Job summary

American Homes 4 Rent, LP is seeking a District Manager to oversee the daily operations of the assigned residential property portfolio within the Texas Irving area. The role may involve acting as the corporate broker of record for the state in major markets.

You will mentor and support the local district team to drive profitability and align goals with the company strategy. You will unify local departments, manage budgets, and oversee operations such as leasing, maintenance, and HOA compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in real estate, finance, business management or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of five years in a general management role with 8+ direct reports.
• Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in an operational or related role.
• Experience in Property Operations, Real Estate, or Property Management is preferred.
• State Real Estate License required within 60 days of start date.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Execute the strategic vision for the operation and drive rental growth and occupancy.
• Assess assets for quality, marketability, performance, and fit; advise on acquisitions/dispositions.
• Lead and coach the district team, providing development and feedback.
• Oversee day-to-day operations including rent collection, leasing, maintenance, and expenses.
• Ensure properties meet quality standards and drive revenue-enhancing improvements.
• Analyze monthly financials to increase profitability and support budget adherence.
• Manage special-case properties including evictions and legal issues.
• Implement resident retention programs and evaluate program effectiveness.
