Job summary

Jackson Hewitt is seeking a District Manager to lead an empowered, high‑performing team across 20–30 locations, drive results, and deliver outstanding client service while owning the district P&L.

You will recruit, mentor and develop leaders, coach performance, enforce branding and safety standards, manage budgeting and forecasting, and collaborate with HR and operations to achieve growth and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in retail management preferred.
• A passion for mentoring and developing others is a must for the District Manager.
• Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills including the ability to lead and engage a team, create a culture of exceptional client service and operational excellence through the execution of goals and objectives and develop strong talent that can be moved throughout the organization.
• Must be able to hold an Electronic Filing Identification Number (EFIN).
• Must have excellent communication skills (written and oral), solid planning and organizational skills, a strong understanding of the financial aspects of the retail business and prior multi‑unit P & L responsibility (preferred).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Manage the local P&L, recruiting, staffing, scheduling, store setup and operations.
• Ensure the safety of assets, clients, and employees through store visits and training.
• Build a high performing team through recruitment, guidance, and development.
• Create retention strategies with development plans to keep top associates.
• Coach store leadership and provide feedback to improve performance.
• Foster a culture where associates express views and strive for excellence.
• Manage the Assistant District Manager and partner to drive sales and client service.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and expense control; drive profitability.
• Ensure execution of branding and operational standards.
• Create schedules; monitor Dayforce and coordinate with HR on issues.
• Partner with HR to resolve employee relations matters.
• Coordinate with facilities on Capex and office build-out timelines.
• Analyze store policies and suggest improvements.
• Ensure compliance with regulations.
• Support flexibility for accommodations and special projects.
