Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Education or Education Administration from an accredited college or university.
• At least three (3) years of experience in education administration as a Principal, Assistant Superintendent, or Superintendent.
• Minimum Principal Certification from the State of Arizona.
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships with people of varied backgrounds.
• First Aid/CPR certification.
• Valid Arizona Driver's License.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and extensive background check.
• Must acknowledge and agree to maintain a drug- and alcohol-free workplace.

Responsibilities

• Administers the development, coordination, maintenance, and evaluation of the educational program, cultural program, and Special Education Program.
• Supervises the methods of teaching, supervision, and administration in effect within the school.
• Monitors the programs and activities of the school toward specific goals, makes adjustments to improve the programs, and assesses their effectiveness.
• Remains informed of modern educational theories and practices through study and conferences.
• Keeps the public and the Tribe informed about educational practices, trends, and challenges.
• Ensures activities comply with laws and Board policies.
• Oversees budget preparation and expenditures per the adopted budget and Board direction.
• Maintains school records and compliance with financial, personnel, and scholastic records.
