Job summary

Gila Crossing Community School (District) seeks a Superintendent with strong leadership to guide the school system’s programs and policies. The role requires an Arizona State Certification and proven experience in education administration at the district level.

The Superintendent will oversee financial planning, student safety, and compliance with federal, state, and tribal regulations, while maintaining strong community and tribal relations and leading a team of administrators and staff.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Education or Education Administration from an accredited college or university.
• At least three (3) years of experience in education administration as a Principal, Assistant Superintendent, or Superintendent.
• Minimum Principal Certification from the State of Arizona.
• First Aid/CPR certification.
• Valid Arizona Driver's License.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
• Must acknowledge and agree to maintain a drug- and alcohol-free workplace.

Responsibilities

• Administers the development, coordination, maintenance, and evaluation of the educational program.
• Supervises the methods of teaching, supervision, and administration in effect within the school.
• Monitors the programs and activities toward goals, makes adjustments to improve programs, and assesses progress toward objectives.
• Keeps the Board and tribe informed about modern educational practices, trends, and challenges.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state, and tribal laws and Board policies.
• Oversees budget planning, expenditures, and annual financial reporting.
• Maintains school and related records including financial and scholastic records.
• Provides safety and transportation regulations for student well-being.
