FirstEnergy is seeking a Distribution Standards Engineer to provide technical expertise and project support across the distribution engineering standards and design scope. The role coordinates between Operating Companies and corporate groups such as Distribution Standards, Planning, and IT to meet regulatory commitments.

Preferred reporting locations include Fairmont, WV; Akron, OH; and Greensburg, PA, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering/Engineering Technology from ABET-accredited program is required.
• PE License or a non-ABET degree plus an advanced engineering degree from ABET-accredited program is acceptable.
• Minimum of three years engineering work experience is required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel; able to learn GISView and AutoCAD.

Responsabilités

• Create Engineering Practices, Material Specifications, Field Guides, and Construction Standards for distribution projects.
• Analyze standards and equipment issues and recommend solutions and alternative designs.
• Review manufacturer drawings for compliance with specifications.
