Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp is seeking a Distribution Standards engineer to provide technical expertise and project support for distribution engineering standards and design across the FirstEnergy footprint.

The role involves coordinating between operating companies and corporate groups, driving regulatory commitments, and implementing technological improvements. Travel across the service territory and ability to work extra hours, including storm duty, are required.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program.
• PE license or equivalent experience with an ABET degree is acceptable.
• Minimum 3 years of engineering experience.
• Proficient with Excel; able to learn GISView and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Create engineering practices, material specifications, field guides, and construction standards for distribution projects.
• Analyze standards/issues and recommend solutions and design options.
• Review manufacturer drawings for compliance with specs.
• Coordinate cross-functional working groups to ensure best practices and tools are used.
