Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Distribution Engineering Manager to lead a team that develops construction work packages for electric distribution systems using GIS, CAD, and WMS. Based in Orlando, FL, with a hybrid/office preference and some travel as needed.

The role requires an ABET-accredited engineering degree, 6–8 years of distribution design experience, and strong leadership, communication, and project management skills. Potential for remote work for exceptional candidates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline (Electrical or Mechanical preferred) from an ABET-accredited institution; Relevant experience may substitute.
• A minimum of 8 years with a Bachelor's or 6 years with a Master's in electric distribution design engineering.
• Proven experience leading engineering personnel.
• Strong knowledge of the NESC and client construction standards.
• Successful project management across life cycle: initiate, plan, execute, monitor & control, closeout.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; collaborative across diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight and support for project teams.
• Serve as client liaison on project-related issues.
• Collaborate with design managers on schedule and quality control.
• Oversee existing capital, reliability, and customer project work (OH/UG).
• Coordinate resource loading based on client demands.
• Track scope, schedule, and budget for active projects.
• Oversee QA/QC for the design team and report metrics.
• Contribute to hiring and professional development efforts.
