Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Distribution Engineering Manager in Orlando to lead a team developing electric distribution work packages using GIS, CAD, and WMS. The role includes overseeing permit, CIAC, and easement processes, directing project scope, schedule, and budget, and ensuring QA/QC and team development.

Occasional travel to the Orlando office is required with a preference for in-office 3–4 days/week and potential remote consideration for exceptional candidates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
• 8+ years with a Bachelor's degree or 6+ years with a Master's degree in electric utility design engineering.
• Demonstrated experience leading engineering personnel.
• Proficient knowledge of the National Electric Safety Code (NESC) and client construction standards.
• Strong project management skills (initiate, plan, execute, monitor, control, closeout).

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight, direction, and support for project teams.
• Serve as client point of contact and liaison on project issues.
• Collaborate with design managers on schedule adherence and team quality.
• Oversee capital, reliability, and customer projects (OH & UG, reconductors, voltage conversions, etc.).
• Facilitate client and team collaboration; manage resource loading based on demand.
• Track scope, schedule, and budget; oversee QA/QC for the design team.
• Monitor team performance metrics and report financials.
• Participate in hiring and professional development for designers and engineers.
