Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Distribution Engineering Manager in Orlando, FL to lead a team developing construction work packages for electric distribution. You will use GIS, CAD, and WMS, oversee permits, easements, CIAC calculations, and cost estimates while ensuring safety and compliance with NESC and client standards.

The role requires 8+ years in electric distribution design engineering (6+ with MS), strong leadership, and solid client liaison skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline (Electrical or Mechanical preferred) from an ABET‑accredited institution.
• 8+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelors OR 6+ years with a Masters in electric distribution design engineering.
• Demonstrated experience leading engineering personnel.
• Strong knowledge of NESC and client construction standards.
• Previous project management experience (initiate, plan, execute, monitor & control, closeout).
• Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Collaborative with diverse teams across locations.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight and direction for project teams.
• Serve as client point of contact on project issues.
• Oversee capital, reliability, and customer projects (OH & UG).
• Manage resource loading based on client demands and track scope, schedule, and budget.
• Oversee QA/QC for design teams and monitor performance metrics.
• Participate in hiring and professional development activities.
