Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Distribution Engineering Manager in Orlando, FL to lead a team developing construction work packages for electric distribution using GIS, CAD, and WMS tools. The role includes permitting, easements, CIAC calculations, BOM development, and cost estimation, with travel to the Orlando office as needed.

The candidate will oversee project scope, schedule, budget, QA/QC, and team performance, while driving client satisfaction and professional development.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree in Electrical or Mechanical (or equivalent with experience)
• 8+ years with Bachelor's or 6+ years with Master's in electric distribution design or electric utilities
• Demonstrated experience leading engineering personnel
• Knowledge of the National Electric Safety Code (NESC) and client standards
• Project management experience (initiate, plan, execute, monitor & control, closeout)
• Strong written and oral communication; collaborative across locations
• Ability to work with limited supervision and lead teams

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight, direction, and support for project teams.
• Function as client point of contact and liaison on project issues.
• Collaborate with design managers on client issues, schedules, and quality.
• Oversee existing capital, reliability, and customer projects (OH & UG).
• Facilitate client and team collaboration; manage resource loading.
• Track scope, schedule, and budget for active projects.
• Oversee QA/QC for the design team.
• Monitor team performance and financial metrics.
• Participate in hiring and professional development.
