Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Distribution Engineering Manager to lead a team that develops construction work packages for electric distribution using GIS, CAD, and WMS systems. The role entails directing project delivery, budgeting, and client coordination from Orlando, FL with a hybrid office requirement and periodic travel.

The ideal candidate has a strong engineering background (ABET-accredited), 8+ years' utility design experience, and leadership capabilities, plus PMP/PE is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited institution; Electrical or Mechanical preferred.
• 8+ years' experience with a Bachelor's or 6+ years with a Master's in electric utility design or consulting.
• Experience leading engineering personnel.
• Solid knowledge of the NESC and client construction standards.
• Proven project management experience (initiate, plan, execute, monitor & control, closeout).
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to work with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight and leadership for project teams.
• Serve as client point of contact and liaison on project issues.
• Collaborate with design managers on schedule and quality control.
• Oversee capital, reliability, and customer project work (OH/UG).
• Facilitate client and team collaboration; manage staffing and load based on demand.
• Track scope, schedule, and budget; monitor project progress.
• Oversee QA/QC for the design team and report metrics.
