Job summary

Leidos in Greenville, SC is seeking a Distribution Engineering Supervisor focused on electric utility design engineering. You will provide technical oversight for distribution projects, supervise design staff, and ensure high-quality deliverables while coordinating with clients to maintain schedules and priorities.

The role requires strong experience in distribution engineering, NESC knowledge, and hands-on calculations for poles, span tensions, and voltage drop, with leadership responsibilities

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant experience in electric utility design engineering.
• ABET-accredited BS in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial engineering.
• Experience with the National Electric Safety Code (NESC).
• Experience with structural analysis, guying calculations, cable pulling calculations, coordination of protective devices, and electric demand and fault currents calculations.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight, direction, and support for project teams on distribution design.
• Oversee design staff QA/QC efforts.
• Collaborate with other design leads on client issues and schedules.
• Review engineering design packages with clients and perform planning tasks.
• Analyze scope and maintain adherence to client priorities.
• Coordinate utilities and field constraints for large design packages in dense urban areas.
• Provide engineering support during construction and post-construction reviews.
• Contribute to team development and hiring efforts.
