Job summary

Georgia Power, a Southern Company subsidiary, is seeking an Interconnections Planning Distribution Engineer to review DG interconnections and support studies for Georgia PSC-approved projects. You will analyze transmission and distribution studies and coordinate with several workgroups to ensure safe, compliant interconnections.

Relocation assistance will be considered case-by-case. Candidates should have a 4-year electrical engineering degree (or engineering technology) and may pursue

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical engineering or Engineering Technology is highly preferred.
• Advanced certifications such as a Professional Engineer license are preferred.
• Experience in planning, design, operation, or maintenance of Transmission/Distribution/Generation assets is required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review DG Interconnections Agreements approved by GA PSC.
• Provide technical support for generator interconnection studies and contracts.
• Coordinate Transmission and Distribution system studies including TOV, Stiffness, ITS, and Load Flow analyses.
• Review interconnection facilities design and need for company upgrades.
• Provide technical insights to other GPC workgroups on interconnections and system impacts.
• Demonstrate analytical skills to evaluate progress, alternatives, and financial impacts.
