Job summary

Georgia Power is seeking a Distribution Engineer focused on Interconnections Planning to support DG projects across Georgia. You will review interconnections agreements, perform system studies, and collaborate with SCS and GPC workgroups to ensure safe, efficient interconnections for customers and communities.

Candidate should have a 4-year engineering degree (Electrical preferred) with experience in planning and modeling; PE license is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology preferred.
• Professional Engineer license preferred.
• Experience with transmission/distribution planning and generator interconnection processes.
• Knowledge of distribution system planning and modeling software is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Review DG interconnections agreements per GA PSC.
• Perform and coordinate transmission and distribution studies.
• Review interconnection facilities design and potential upgrades.
• Provide technical support to other GPC workgroups.
• Review contracts prior to execution (Interconnection Agreements).
