Job summary

Georgia Power is seeking an Engineer or Engineering Associate to handle day-to-day engineering work on large projects, including design, estimating and coordinating construction for overhead and underground lines. The candidate should have a relevant engineering degree or PE license, and distribution engineering experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, ETC, math or science with relevant coursework.
• PE license can substitute for a bachelor’s degree as allowed.
• Experience in distribution engineering is a plus.
• Power industry experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day engineering work within large projects.
• Assist with project designs, estimating and construction coordination.
• Prepare and schedule construction to meet in-service dates.
• Write and execute switching orders for system reliability.
• Coordinate with area managers, supervisors and stakeholders.
• Ensure documentation complies with corporate requirements.
