Job summary

Georgia Power, a subsidiary of Southern Company, seeks an Engineer or Engineering Associate to handle daily engineering tasks for large projects, including design, estimating, and coordinating overhead and underground work. The role involves scheduling construction, writing switching orders, and ensuring compliance documentation and customer service.

The position offers growth with required degrees or PE license and preference for distribution engineering experience in the power utility sector.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related fields or PE license in lieu of degree.
• Experience in distribution engineering is a plus.
• Power utility experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day engineering work for SPP large projects.
• Design, estimate, and coordinate construction for overhead and underground work.
• Coordinate with Area Distribution Managers and other stakeholders.
• Prepare and schedule construction of jobs to meet in-service dates.
• Write and execute switching orders to maintain and operate the distribution system.
• Document work per Compliance requirements.
