Job summary

Entergy Arkansas, LLC is seeking a Dist Operator II in Little Rock to ensure safe and reliable operation of the electric distribution system, including switching, SCADA monitoring, and outage restoration.

The role requires 3–5 years in distribution/substation, a 4-year engineering degree or equivalent, and Switchman certifications; travel up to 25% and irregular hours are expected. Strong communication and leadership are needed to support multiple centers.

Qualifications

• 4-year engineering degree or equivalent electric utility experience preferred.
• Operator I: 1–3 years in distribution, transmission, or substation.
• Operator II: 3–5 years in distribution, transmission, or substation.
• Operator Sr: 5+ years in distribution, transmission, or substation with leadership.
• Switchman certified in Entergy distribution tasks; 85% exam passing rate.
• Ability to work irregular hours and up to 25% travel.

Responsibilities

• Maintain OMS: assign outage work, prioritize outages, and reflect outage information.
• Troubleshoot distribution system faults and assist field responders.
• Direct field personnel for switching via SCADA; develop switching plans.
• Coordinate large switching projects involving substation and distribution resources.
• Monitor SCADA alarms and respond to outages and emergencies.
• Provide feedback to Data Maintenance and update CCS/SAISO for outage scenarios.
