Job summary

GPAC in Greenville, SC is seeking a Dispatcher / Operations Assistant to coordinate daily dispatch, keep trucks moving, and support drivers, customers, and internal teams. This on-site role is about more than data entry or phone calls; you will manage schedules, monitor loads, and handle changes to keep operations efficient.

You should have transportation/logistics experience, strong communication, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Transportation/logistics experience preferred.
• Dispatcher or operations experience preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Comfortable working with drivers and customers.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient with computers and learning new TMS/software.
• Detail-oriented and dependable.
• Capable of making quick, effective decisions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily dispatch and transportation activities.
• Communicate with drivers, customers, and internal operations.
• Monitor loads, schedules, pickups and deliveries.
• Handle changes, delays and last-minute operational issues.
• Keep accurate records and update transportation systems.
• Assist with routing, scheduling and driver coordination.
• Help ensure loads are moving efficiently and on time.
• Support the Operations Manager with daily transportation needs.
• Identify problems before they become bigger problems.
• Provide general administrative and operational support.
