Job summary

IN-RG Transport in Elwood, IN is seeking a dispatcher to coordinate driver routes, ensure DOT safety rules and hours of service, and communicate customer requirements. This role reports to fleet operations and requires strong mapping and routing skills.

You will manage load paperwork for payroll and billing, track equipment maintenance, and help maximize asset utilization while supporting driver retention and on-time deliveries.

Qualifications

• 2 years previous transportation experience
• Dispatch experience and knowledge of DOT regulations
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience with mapping and routing systems

Responsibilities

• Ensure all DOT safety rules and hours of service policies are followed
• Facilitate driver home time needs and requirements
• Communicate all customer requirements
• Process drivers load information and paperwork for payroll and billing functions
• Update billing requirements
• Process lumper requests
• Route and guide drivers on approved roads
• Update directions on customers loads
• Equipment management
• Coordinate vehicle maintenance appointments
• Maximize company asset utilization
• Manage driver and customer retention
• Direct and manage drivers to approved fuelling locations and mange Comdata fuel card maintenance
• Manage and issue cash advances for road expenses as needed
