Job summary

Dispatcher / Trucking Lead role in Virginia site-based operations. You will own transportation and dispatch for loads from shop to active project sites, ensuring clear visibility and accountability across the fleet.

You will build schedules, track locations, coordinate with drivers and subcontractors, and adapt quickly to changing priorities while driving process improvements in a growing steel operation.

Qualifications

• Experienced dispatch, trucking, logistics or transportation professional.
• Ability to manage multiple loads, priorities and partners in real time.
• Comfortable building processes and reporting across dispatch operations.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain daily and forward-looking schedules for trucks, trailers and loads.
• Track trailer locations, loading status, availability and return dates.
• Coordinate deliveries with fabrication readiness and project/site requirements.
• Schedule and communicate with drivers and external subcontractors.
• Make real-time decisions when priorities or schedules change.
• Communicate delays and priorities clearly to shop, drivers and project teams.
• Establish ownership and reporting across the dispatch operation.
• Improve visibility over fleet utilisation and equipment availability.
• Support process improvements and future system evaluations.
