Virginia Steel & Fabrication, Inc. is seeking an experienced Class A CDL Driver to join our flatbed operations in Virginia. The role involves transporting fabricated structural steel and related materials to sites and customers, with emphasis on securing loads safely and complying with DOT regulations.

The ideal candidate has flatbed experience, a valid Class A CDL, and a current DOT medical card. Benefits include health coverage and 401(k); routes vary by project, and there are opportunities

Qualifications

Valid Class A CDL is required.
Current DOT medical card is required.
Acceptable motor vehicle record.
Experience operating tractor-trailer and flatbed equipment.
Strong load securement knowledge with chains and binders.

Responsibilities

Operate Class A commercial vehicle with a flatbed trailer.
Haul structural steel, beams, columns, plate, tubing, and related products.
Secure loads using chains, binders, straps, and other equipment.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain DOT logs.
Coordinate with shop and project personnel during loading/unloading.
Deliver materials to construction sites and customer locations.
Maintain vehicle and trailer in safe condition and comply with safety rules.
