Job summary

Roadtex Transportation, now part of Echo Global Logistics, seeks a Dispatcher to plan, coordinate, and execute daily transportation operations ensuring timely delivery. You will plan routes, track shipments in real time, and communicate with carriers, drivers, and schedulers to adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree in logistics, transportation, or a related field preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience in dispatching, logistics coordination, or transportation planning or equivalent.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) and dispatch or transportation management systems (TMS).
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to make quick, sound decisions and manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule daily routes to optimize delivery efficiency and meet commitments.
• Track and trace shipments, ensure on-time performance, address delays.
• Coordinate with 3rd-party carriers and internal teams for pickups and deliveries.
• Collaborate with schedulers to align routes with customer requirements and capacity.
• Monitor driver progress and provide real-time updates to operations and customer service.
• Identify and resolve route conflicts, service issues, or delays proactively.
• Maintain dispatch records and route data for reporting and analysis.
• Apply critical thinking to adjust plans with minimal disruption.
