Job summary

Heartland EMS, INC in Georgia is seeking a Dispatch Operator to coordinate ambulance and NET unit deployments based on call information. The role requires quick decision-making and strong communication with field teams.

You will manage multiple phone lines, document conversations, and use the CAD system to dispatch units while ensuring accurate data entry and unit availability. EMS experience is preferred, but training is provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• EMS, Dispatcher and/or CAD experience preferred.
• Ability to multitask and make quick decisions in a busy environment.
• General knowledge of cities and highways within Georgia.
• Experience in customer service and multi-line phone handling.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize incoming ambulance and NET call requests.
• Operate multiple phone lines (cellular and land).
• Use CAD System to dispatch units and monitor availability.
• Communicate clearly with Field & Operations personnel.
• Document all call details and dispatch information.
• Assist with data entry and other duties as assigned.

The Dispatch Operator dispatches appropriate ambulance and NET unit based on call information provided.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Effectively prioritize incoming ambulance and NET call requestsOperate multiple incoming cellular and land telephone linesUse CAD System to dispatch ambulances and NET unitsMonitor the movement and availability of ambulance and NET unitsCommunicate clearly and effectively with all Field & Operations personnelAccurately document all conversation details related to calls, dispatches, and messagesTroubleshoots mechanical/situational problemsContact Dispatch Supervisor, COO, and Fleet Manager as appropriate.Perform accurate basic data entryPerforms other related duties as assigned by management.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:This job has no supervisory responsibilities.High school diploma or general education degree (GED) requiredEMS, Dispatcher and/or CAD experience is preferredAbility to multitask and make quick decisions in a busy work environmentGeneral knowledge of cities and locations of highways within GeorgiaExperience in customer service and answering multiple phone lines simultaneously
