Job summary

Seaboard Foods is hiring a Customer Dispatch professional for our Merriam, KS area. You will evaluate drivers and owner-operators to ensure service needs are met while maintaining on-time delivery and high customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities include maximizing truck utilization, reporting metrics, coordinating with maintenance, and communicating with drivers and customers to ensure smooth handoffs. A High School diploma and 5+ years in transportation operations are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School or GED.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in transportation operations including dispatch and customer service experience.
• Highly organized and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Experience working in a team-oriented and collaborative environment.
• Bachelor’s Degree, preferred.
• Experience with TMS software.
• PowerPro
• PeopleNet

Responsibilities

• Maximize truck utilization and reduce driver turnover.
• Gather, evaluating and reporting information as needed. Evaluates and makes recommendations for reequipment requirements.
• Communicate with vehicle maintenance manager and personnel on specific tractor or trailer equipment maintenance and repair as needed.
• Communicates and monitors performance on all loads with drivers, manages drivers home time.
• Communication between customer and driver ensuring the successful handoff or pickup of product
• Reports to the Customer Dispatch Manager
