Job summary

Big Whiskey's American Restaurant & Bar is seeking a dishwashing team member to wash and clean tableware, pots, pans, and cooking equipment. The role includes keeping the dish room clean and organized and supporting the kitchen and dining area as needed.

You will work in a hot, wet, humid and loud environment, requiring physical stamina and the ability to lift up to 60 pounds. Flexible scheduling is available to fit restaurant needs.

Qualifications

• No previous restaurant experience required.
• Be able to work in a hot, wet, humid and loud environment for long periods of time.
• Be physically able to lift, reach, bend and stoop; stand up to 5 hours.

Responsibilities

• Load, run, and unload dish machine.
• Keep the dish machine clean and report any functional or mechanical problems.
• Monitor dish machine’s water temperature to ensure sanitary wash cycle.
• Wash and store tableware and kitchenware.
• Keep dish room clean and organized.
• Maintain adequate levels of clean tableware for the dining room and kitchen.
• Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss.
• Be available to fill in as needed to ensure smooth operation of the restaurant.
• Help with light prep and portioning.

Summary of Position

Wash and clean tableware, pots, pans, and cooking equipment. Keep the dish room and equipment clean and organized.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Load, run, and unload dish machine
• Keep the dish machine clean and report any functional or mechanical problems immediately
• Monitor dish machine’s water temperature to ensure sanitary wash cycle
• Wash and store tableware and kitchenware
• Keep dish room clean and organized
• Maintain adequate levels of clean tableware for the dining room and kitchen
• Maintain a safe environment around hot and sharp objects
• Preform trash audits every 15 minutes
• Bag and haul dish room trash to dumpster at appropriate times
• Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss
• Maintain adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies
• Clean food preparation and production areas as required
• Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor
• Help with light prep and portioning

Qualifications

• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours)
• Be able to safely lift bags, cases, and stacks weighing up to 60 pounds up to 30 times per shift
