Job summary

Sugar Bowl Resort in California is seeking hardworking dishwashers to keep our kitchens running smoothly during the season. You’ll wash dishes, maintain sanitation, and support the kitchen team as a backbone of our Food & Beverage operation.

Experience in a professional kitchen is preferred; must be at least 16. We offer a warm, fast-paced work environment with benefits including a 401k after 1000 hours, ski passes, and employee discounts on food and lift tickets.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a professional kitchen or similar role preferred.
  • Knowledge of sanitation methods and maintaining a clean workspace at all times.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Reliability and punctuality; takes pride in doing the job right.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and health & safety standards.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Wash dishes, pots, pans, and utensils using approved sanitation methods and equipment.
  • Return cleaned items to proper storage locations promptly and accurately.
  • Perform routine daily and weekly deep cleaning of kitchen equipment and areas.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment during the shift.
  • Assist dining area with general cleaning and table service cleanup as needed.
  • Collaborate with main kitchen and staff to support smooth operations.

Who You Are:
  • Prior experience in a professional food production or kitchen environment as a dishwasher or in a similar support role - preferred
  • Knowledge of approved sanitation methods and a commitment to maintaining a clean workspace at all times
  • Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment

What You’ll do:
  • Wash dishes, pots, pans, and utensils using approved sanitation methods and industrial dishwashing equipment
  • Return all cleaned items to their proper storage location promptly and accurately
  • Complete routine daily and weekly deep cleaning of kitchen equipment and work areas
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment throughout the entire shift
  • Assist the dining area with general cleaning and table service clean-up as needed
  • Work cooperatively with the main kitchen and food service staff to support a smooth and efficient operation
  • Make timely decisions to ensure compliance with performance and sanitation standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Kitchen Supervisor or Food & Beverage Manager
Physical Requirements:
  • Stands continuously in a kitchen environment for the majority of the shift
  • Frequently kneels, stoops, and bends when cleaning equipment and work areas
  • Regularly lifts, carries, and moves items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Works in a warm, wet, and fast-paced kitchen environment for extended periods
  • Handles hot items and cleaning chemicals safely, using appropriate protective equipment
