Job summary

Anthropic seeks a Discovery Operations Lead in San Francisco to own and scale its EDRM discovery programs. You will design, implement, and govern the legal hold process, data preservation, collection, and production across enterprise systems, partnering with Security, IT, and product teams.

You will drive automation, analytics, and defensible workflows while coordinating with external vendors and counsel to support active matters and regulatory inquiries.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on discovery across the full EDRM lifecycle with ownership of complex matters.
  • Experience founding or rebuilding discovery operations, defining operating models and playbooks.
  • Knowledge of RelativityOne, data sources, and AI workflows in discovery.
  • Strong understanding of Federal Rules on discovery, ESI preservation, and proportionality.
  • Experience with Slack, Google Workspace, MS 365, Box, and engineering systems in preservation.
  • Experience managing discovery vendor programs, SLAs, pricing, and performance.
  • Strong PM skills and ability to communicate with attorneys and engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Design and operate discovery operations across the full EDRM lifecycle.
  • Own the legal hold program design, custodians, holds, and release.
  • Stand up RelativityOne and preserve/collect data across Slack, Google Workspace, and internal systems.
  • Document SOPs and playbooks for scalable discovery work.
  • Manage discovery vendor programs, pricing, SLAs, and performance reviews.
  • Coordinate matter execution and escalations between counsel, vendors, and IT.
  • Partner with Security, IT, and product engineering on data landscape and data sources.
  • Develop dashboards and reporting on data management trends and cross‑matter discovery status.
  • Incorporate AI and automation into the EDRM lifecycle for review and automation.
  • Support active litigation, investigations, and regulatory inquiries.
