Job summary

Lilly seeks an Associate Director of eDiscovery to lead technical strategy across the EDRM lifecycle. You will shape workflows, manage the legal hold platform and vendor relationships, and drive automation initiatives across enterprise systems.

You will partner with Legal, Privacy, IT, and business stakeholders, mentoring teams and advancing AI-assisted review technologies in defensible processes. This role is based in Indianapolis and requires US work authorization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to information systems, computer science, information management, legal studies, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in eDiscovery operations or legal technology, with hands-on experience managing eDiscovery tools and platforms across the EDRM lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the strategic roadmap for Lilly's eDiscovery program and design technical specs and SOPs for defensible processes.
  • Assist in managing Lilly’s legal hold platform and vendor relationships, balancing daily operations with ongoing tech enhancements.
  • Partner with business areas to preserve data per legal hold requirements across enterprise systems and data lakes, including integration and automation.
  • Define, automate, and manage data collection from diverse systems and metadata with chain-of-custody.
  • Assist in eDiscovery data processing, review, and platform-hosting vendor relationships, monitoring service quality and cost.
  • Evaluate and partner with vendors to implement AI and ML solutions (TAR/CAL, predictive coding, analytics) within defensible workflows.
  • Advise on complex eDiscovery scenarios, sequencing technical execution with matter deadlines and system constraints.
  • Act as a strategic/technical partner to outside counsel, Legal, Privacy, Records Management, IT, Compliance, Cybersecurity, and stakeholders.
  • Mentor teammates and collaborate cross-functionally to build technical expertise across EDRM stages.
