Job summary

Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. seeks an experienced Discipline Operations Manager I to lead a discipline subgroup, align staffing and schedules, and drive performance for Total Project Success across client projects.

As an owner from day one, you will mentor team members, coordinate with Project Managers, oversee QA/QC, and help implement process improvements while maintaining a strong focus on professional standards and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Professional with at least 10 years of practical experience in a technical discipline.
• At least 5 years in a consulting engineering firm.
• Proficient within the discipline of expertise.
• Active and up to date in NCEES council record, if applicable.
• Experience managing projects of small to mid-scale scope and complexity.

Responsibilities

• Lead a discipline subgroup and align staffing and schedules to deliver Total Project Success.
• Coordinate with PMs to ensure staffing and skill mix across projects.
• Oversee QA/QC and ensure design services meet professional standards.
• Develop employee development plans and mentor staff.
• Manage and report subgroup KPIs and budgets.
