Job summary

Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. seeks a disciplined Discipline Operations Manager I to lead a subgroup of engineers, aligning staffing, schedules, and performance to deliver Total Project Success for clients.

You'll partner with Discipline Operations Director and PMs to staff projects, mentor team members, oversee QA/QC, manage budgets and KPIs, and ensure design standards across offices while maintaining an in-office presence.

Qualifications

• Registered technical professional or equivalent with extensive discipline experience.
• Minimum 5 years in a consulting engineering firm.
• Active NCEES record if applicable and up to date.
• Proven ability to staff projects and manage performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead a discipline subgroup, aligning staffing and schedules.
• Oversee design QA/QC to meet client and firm standards.
• Partner with other ops managers and the discipline director on staffing.
• Mentor subgroup members and drive a culture of growth.
• Coordinate with PMs on staffing, onboarding, and performance cycles.
• Report KPI progress and manage budget considerations.
• Maintain in-office presence and cross-location collaboration.
