Job summary

Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services seeks a Community Engagement Manager to expand access to mental health services after disasters. You will build partnerships with community organizations, coordinate field-based and telehealth services, and support staff training for rapid disaster response.

With a bachelor’s degree and 1–2 years in disaster-related work, you will collaborate across departments, represent the agency at events, and advance equity in care for affected communities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 1–2 years in disaster preparedness and response, emergency management, or community outreach.
  • Strong knowledge of mental health needs during and after disasters.
  • Proven ability to build partnerships with community orgs and stakeholders.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Field work capability in crisis situations.
  • Public speaking experience and clear written communication.
  • Collaborative work across departments; commitment to team goals.
  • California driver’s license; driving record acceptable to insurer.
  • Experience in nonprofit community mental health; bilingual Spanish valued.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, build, and maintain partnerships with community orgs and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate deployment of field-based and telehealth mental health services.
  • Collaborate on policy development, program materials, and reservist operations.
  • Train staff in disaster response initiatives and ensure readiness.
  • Ensure timely disaster-specific training and awareness of community needs.
  • Coordinate integrated response with multiple directors and teams.
  • Manage projects within disaster response initiatives.
