Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking a Disaster Workforce Engagement Manager to guide and support teams of employees and volunteers to deliver comfort and care during disasters. You will build a robust volunteer program, energize engagement, and ensure readiness across communities in your region.

Based in Ohio, you will deploy as needed and collaborate with local partners to meet urgent needs. The role requires directing diverse teams, managing programs, and meeting training and capacity

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Minimum 5 years of related experience with building, mobilizing, leading, and developing volunteer teams to execute a social services program or service.
• 3 years of supervisory or management experience.
• Valid Driver’s License REQUIRED

Responsibilities

• Guide and support teams of employees and trained volunteers to deliver care in disasters.
• Build and energize volunteer workforce with established processes.
• Deploy with regional disaster staff at least once a year.
• Ensure readiness of communities to respond to disasters.
• Maintain training and physical capacity requirements for deployment.
• Collaborate with local partners and community leaders.
