Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking a Disaster Workforce Engagement Manager to guide and energize volunteer teams, delivering comfort and care in times of disaster while mentoring volunteers to grow professionally.

You will build readiness in communities, collaborate with volunteer services staff, and align efforts to ensure rapid, accessible, and culturally appropriate disaster responses; regional deployments are required at least once per year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related field or experience.
• Minimum 5 years building, mobilizing, leading volunteer teams.
• Valid driver's license with good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Guide, lead and support teams of trained volunteers during disasters.
• Build, sustain, and energize volunteer workforce using established processes.
• Collaborate with volunteer services staff to ensure readiness of communities.
• Deploy to disaster relief operations regionally at least once per year.
• Set targets for volunteer engagement and Disaster Action Team responses.
