Job summary

Ceres Environmental Operations is seeking a seasoned Superintendent to lead debris removal and emergency response activations across the U.S. and Puerto Rico. You will drive safety, quality, and productivity while coordinating field crews and subcontractors to meet project requirements.

The role demands extensive travel, strong leadership, and financial acumen to ensure profitability and timely project completion in disaster recovery environments.

Qualifications

• 10+ years experience as a Superintendent or similar role in disaster recovery, construction, or related field operations.
• 5+ years of people management and coordination experience across multiple project phases.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply safety regulations, contract documents, project specs, and drawings.
• Demonstrated financial and operational accountability in managing labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively with short-notice deployments.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with stakeholders.
• Proficient with MS Office including Excel and Word.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company driving requirements.

Responsibilities

• Read, understand, and adhere to all SOPs and safety policies.
• Leverage financial knowledge to guide operational decisions for cost control and profitability.
• Direct and coordinate personnel and subcontractors in planning and on-site execution.
• Monitor field work for accuracy, progress, and eligibility; quantify debris and locations daily.
• Verify debris eligibility per contract specs and FEMA guidelines; log ineligible debris.
• Supervise five plus employees and coordinate with project management and inspectors.
• Collaborate with management, inspectors, and suppliers to resolve challenges.
• Inspect work to ensure compliance with contracts and specifications.
• Prepare daily production reports: progress, labor, materials, costs; adjust schedules.
• Support contract scheduling and documentation, ensuring accuracy.
• Provide daily activity-based reporting; adapt plans as needed.
• Perform additional tasks to support project success.
