Job summary

American Red Cross is seeking a Community Disaster Program Manager to collaborate with Volunteer Services. You will mobilize partners, assess readiness resources, and coordinate disaster response efforts across the assigned area.

This role requires deploying outside the region at least once a year and meeting training and physical requirements. The position supports volunteers in delivering disaster cycle services, with emphasis on readiness, preparedness, response, and recovery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience building, mobilizing, leading and developing volunteer teams.
• A valid driver's license and good driving record are required.

Responsibilities

• Empower Volunteers: Lead and support a diverse volunteer team responsible for disaster service programming in the assigned area.
• Lead the Program: Implement disaster cycle services activities within the region or geography.
• Mission Capacity Building: Develop disaster volunteers for readiness, response, and recovery roles.
• Engage Community: Prepare and mobilize communities and engage partners with functional expertise and assets for disasters.
• Manage in a Matrix: Build relationships with internal partners and volunteers in a matrix environment.
• Know Your Communities: Serve as the disaster subject matter expert to maximize presence and engagement.
• Ready to Respond: Initiate and coordinate disaster relief operations in the region.
