Job summary

American Red Cross seeks a Community Disaster Program Manager to lead volunteer teams and coordinate disaster readiness activities within the assigned geographic area. You will mobilize partners, manage resources, and ensure communities are prepared to respond to disasters.

You will collaborate with volunteers and staff across programs, develop leadership capacity, and drive readiness initiatives. A valid driver's license and five years' relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 5 years of related experience building, mobilizing, and leading volunteer teams for social services.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a diverse volunteer team delivering disaster cycle services across the assigned area.
• Coordinate disaster cycle activities and field operations within the region.
• Develop capacity by mentoring Disaster Leadership Volunteers and partner organizations.
• Engage communities and partners to improve preparedness, response, and recovery efforts.
• Collaborate with internal staff and volunteers in a matrix management environment.
• Serve as subject matter expert to maximize Red Cross presence and community engagement.
