Job summary

American Red Cross in the United States is seeking a Community Disaster Program Manager to lead volunteer teams and ensure readiness across communities. You will collaborate with Volunteer Services, mobilize partners, and assess resources, facilities, and local vendors to close readiness gaps.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
Minimum 5 years leading and developing volunteer teams for social services or similar programs.
Willingness to travel up to 20%.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Lead and support volunteer teams across the assigned geographic area.
Collaborate with internal partners and volunteers to execute disaster cycle services.
Develop and support disaster leadership volunteers and partnerships.
Engage communities and stakeholders to prepare, respond, and recover from disasters.
Operate in a matrix management environment with internal partners.
Act as subject-matter expert to maximize community engagement and readiness.
Initiate disaster relief operations in alignment with standard procedures.
