Job summary

American Red Cross in Wilmington, NC seeks a Community Disaster Program Manager to coordinate volunteer-led disaster cycle services. You will mobilize partners, assess readiness, and ensure communities are prepared for disasters.

You will mentor Disaster Leadership Volunteers, collaborate across teams, and deploy to disaster relief operations as needed, including regional responsibilities and training requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; related program work considered.
• Minimum five years leading and developing volunteer teams for social services.
• Valid driver's license with good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Empower volunteers by leading diverse teams across disaster cycle services.
• Lead program activities within geographic area or region.
• Develop disaster leadership volunteers to meet readiness objectives.
• Engage communities and partners to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters.
• Collaborate in a matrix environment with internal partners and volunteers.
• Serve as disaster subject matter expert for the area to maximize engagement.
• Coordinate disaster relief operations aligned with the Disaster Cycle Services plan.
