Job summary

The American Red Cross in North Carolina seeks a Community Disaster Program Specialist to guide and support teams of trained volunteers delivering comfort and care in times of disaster. You will lead volunteer-led disaster cycle services, ensuring rapid, accessible, and equitable support to frontline communities.

You will collaborate with partners to prepare, respond to, and recover from disasters, deploy regionally when needed, and build community resilience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 3 years of related disaster services experience.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate staff and volunteer activities across multiple sites.
• Lead and engage volunteers to deliver disaster cycle services.
• Collaborate with local partners to prepare communities for disasters.
• Support deployment to disaster relief operations as needed.
