Job summary

The American Red Cross in Central Illinois seeks a Community Disaster Program Manager to oversee disaster services in the region, supervise staff and volunteers, and coordinate local preparedness, response, and recovery activities.

This full-time role requires a Bachelor's degree, 3+ years of related experience, and a year of leadership. It involves deployments, evenings and weekends, and building partnerships to strengthen community resilience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education/experience.
• Minimum 3 years of related experience.
• 1 year of lead or supervisory experience.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Empower volunteers and supervise staff for disaster services region-wide.
• Lead disaster cycle activities and functional regional programs.
• Develop and support disaster volunteers from diverse communities.
• Engage communities and partners to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters.
• Build relationships within the matrix of internal partners and volunteers.
• Serve as local subject matter expert to maximize Red Cross presence and engagement.
• Initiate and coordinate disaster relief operations aligned with the COOP.
