Job summary

American Red Cross in Central Illinois is seeking a Community Disaster Program Manager to oversee the disaster services program, supervising staff and volunteer teams in preparedness, response, and recovery.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree, at least 3 years of related experience, and 1 year of leadership. A valid driver's license and willingness to travel, including some evenings and weekends, are required. Deployments to disaster zones may occur annually.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years of related experience.
• 1 year of lead or supervisory experience.
• Valid driver's license with good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Empower volunteers: manage staff and volunteers for disaster services in the area.
• Lead the program: supervise employees and implement disaster cycle activities.
• Build mission capacity: develop disaster volunteers representative of the community.
• Engage community: mobilize partners to prepare for and recover from disasters.
• Manage in a matrix: collaborate with internal partners and volunteers.
• Know your communities: act as local disaster subject matter expert.
• Ready to respond: initiate and coordinate disaster relief operations.
