Job summary

Voya Financial, Inc. is seeking a Leave & Disability Claims Manager in Washington, responsible for overseeing disability and leave claims within the Claims organization and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.

You will lead a team of claims professionals, collaborate with HR, legal, and operations, and drive process improvements to enhance customer service and outcomes while aligning with the company’s workplace strategy.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years supervisory experience.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in disability claims management.
• Exceptional knowledge with leave related laws/regulations, FMLA; ADA; PFML, Paid Sick Leave, PWFA, and pregnancy related leaves.
• Strong background in disability management and industry best practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to influence key decision makers to drive process improvements and change management.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build and foster effective partnerships across the enterprise.
• Professional certifications such as Certified Disability Management Professional (CDMP), Certified Claims Professional (CCP), or similar are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the administration and management of disability and leave claims, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations such as FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, and ERISA.
• Lead and manage a team of claims professionals, offering guidance, support, and development planning to ensure high performance and maintain Voya culture.
• Evaluate complex claims and situations, making informed decisions that require judgment and providing direction on disability and leave management claims.
• Deliver exemplary customer service to claimants, ensuring timely and accurate communication and resolution of claims.
• Develop, implement, and adopt claims policies and procedures to ensure consistency, efficiency, and compliance.
• Collaborate with global partners and internal stakeholders, including HR, legal, and operational teams, to align claims management with company goals and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor and report on KPIs related to claims management, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
• Facilitate regular audits and reviews of claims processes to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
• Source opportunities for technology and process improvements from claims professionals to enhance operational efficiency and drive continuous improvement at the source.
• Manage demand and capacity to ensure optimal resource allocation.
• Stay current with industry trends and changes in regulations related to disability and leave claims.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
