Job summary

Sedgwick is seeking a Work Leader to supervise multiple teams of examiners and staff for disability claims, ensuring timely adjudication and adherence to quality standards. You will monitor workloads, train colleagues, and provide technical direction on examiner reports for clients.

You will also review management data, support process improvements, and act as a secondary appeal point while maintaining strong client relations and ensuring staff licensing where required.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree preferred; licenses as required; professional certifications as applicable.
• Six (6) years of claims experience; two (2) years of supervisory experience preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of claims management procedures for disability.
• Excellent oral and written communication, including presentation skills.
• PC literate, including Microsoft Office products.
• Leadership/management/motivational skills.
• Analytical and interpretive skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Excellent negotiation skills.
• Ability to work in a team and meet performance competencies.

Responsibilities

• Supervises multiple teams of examiners and/or several technical operations colleagues for a wide span of control.
• Monitors workload and advises management of trends and issues with recommended actions.
• Provides technical/jurisdictional direction to examiner reports on claims adjudication.
• Compiles, reviews, and analyzes management reports and takes action.
• Performs quality review on claims in compliance with audit requirements and quality standards.
• Acts as second level of appeal for client and claimant issues; implements final disposition.
• Reviews reserve amounts on high-cost claims and those outside examiner authority.
• Maintains client contact and promotes professional client relationships.
• Ensures reports and licenses are properly maintained.
• Supports quality programs and other duties as assigned.
