Job summary

ViaQuest in Lafayette, IN seeks a full-time Finance Specialist to manage individual finances within the Circle of Care. The role ensures timely payment of basic needs and maintains accurate financial records.

You will coordinate with program managers and oversee monthly reconciliations, contributing to cost-saving and compliant processes. The ideal candidate will have a four-year degree in accounting or related fields, with experience in Excel/Word and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in accounting, social services or human services is preferred.
• Candidates without a degree but who have 3 years of experience in accounting or developmental disabilities will also be considered.
• Experience using Microsoft Excel and Word; supervisory/management experience is a plus; strong communication and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor individual’s finances and benefits as outlined in the individual’s service plan and per company policy.
• Ensure individual’s basic needs such as rent, utilities, etc. are paid consistently and timely.
• Ensure spending money and petty cash is available at each site per the individual’s service plan.
• Submit cost of living to county boards, as applicable.
• Order checks for individuals timely.
• Set up online bill pay for individuals, as applicable.
• Review monthly finance packets and complete monthly reconciliation of bank accounts.
• Work collaboratively with Program Managers and other management to ensure accuracy with individual’s finances.
