Job summary

Manchester Youth Development Center (MYDC) in Pittsburgh seeks a Director of Youth Programming to lead day-to-day operations of afterschool and Camp CHOICE, supervise staff, and coordinate program logistics. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least five years of experience leading youth programs with supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, Human Services, Youth Development, Recreation, or related field.
• Minimum of five years leading youth programming, afterschool programs, camps, or similar community programs.
• Minimum of three years supervisory experience.
• Experience working with diverse youth populations and families preferred.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain certification upon hire required. Ability to obtain and maintain all required Pennsylvania clearances required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the daily operations of all school-age youth programming, including afterschool and Camp CHOICE.
• Supervise, coach, schedule, and support youth program staff to ensure appropriate staffing, accountability, and program quality.
• Develop staff schedules and coordinate daily coverage to maintain safe staff-to-youth ratios and uninterrupted programming.
• Foster a welcoming, engaging, and inclusive environment that promotes positive youth development and meaningful student participation.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for day-to-day communication with families regarding attendance, schedules, activities, behavioral concerns, and program updates.
• Coordinate daily program logistics, including space utilization, transportation, meals, supplies, field trips, and special events.
• Monitor program quality, participant engagement, attendance, and behavioral trends, implementing improvements as needed.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, licensing requirements, safety standards, and grant or program requirements.
• Collaborate with organizational leadership and community partners to support program goals and organizational initiatives.
• Maintain accurate program records, reports, and documentation.
