Job summary

Met Council in New York, NY is seeking a Director of Volunteer Programs and Fulfillment Centers to lead volunteer engagement across the five boroughs and our Bronx expansion. You will partner with the Development team to align donor cultivation with program delivery and oversee center operations, staffing, and vendor management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• 5+ years of experience in development, donor relations, corporate engagement, nonprofit events, community engagement, and/or volunteer management.
• Demonstrated track record of successfully managing and mentoring a team of staff and overseeing multiple programs or workstreams.
• Experience developing engagement opportunities that support donor cultivation and stewardship.
• Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage both strategic priorities and day-to-day operations across multiple locations.
• Demonstrated cultural competency and experience working effectively with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Lead volunteer engagement strategy and develop programs that deepen donor relationships.
• Oversee planning and execution of volunteer events across the five boroughs.
• Manage Spitzer Fulfillment Center operations and Bronx expansion.
• Mentor the Volunteer Programs and Fulfillment Centers team.
• Represent Met Council at community events and donor engagements.
• Collaborate with Development Team to align volunteer initiatives with fundraising goals.
• Build partnerships with corporations, synagogues, schools, and community organizations.
• Design and oversee large-scale volunteer programs including logistics and staffing.
• Coordinate cross-department initiatives to link volunteerism with service programs.
• Develop an annual calendar of opportunities aligned with holidays and agency priorities.
