Job summary

Met Council, America’s largest Jewish charity serving New York City, seeks a Career Access Program Director to lead workforce development initiatives in Brooklyn and surrounding neighborhoods. The role requires experience in program design, partnerships, and community engagement, with a focus on expanding services and building meaningful collaborations.

The Director will supervise Brooklyn staff, coordinate with funders and instructors, and represent the organization to external partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
• 5+ years of work experience in nonprofit, community-based, program planning, or workforce development industries (required).
• Excellent communication skills; fluent in English (both written and verbal).
• Bilingual English/Yiddish (preferred). Familiarity with Boro Park community (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a plan to expand Met Council’s Career Access suite of workforce development programs in Brooklyn, coordinating with staff, funders, partner agencies, and community members.
• Oversee, supervise, and support all Career Access Program staff in Brooklyn.
• Lead agency-facing workforce-related meetings and produce funder reports.
• Collaborate with contracted instructors, educational institutions, and seminar presenters on creating and implementing career courses and educational seminars.
• Represent Met Council to external partners and stakeholders.
• Build relationships with community members and regularly assess demand for workforce development services.
• Develop and maintain relationships with employers, government and philanthropic stakeholders in NYC.
• Document program progress, lessons learned, and future steps for leadership and funders.
