Job summary

Collins Aerospace, part of RTX, seeks an Associate Director of Value Engineering to lead a skilled team focused on cost-informed design and manufacturability across multiple programs. You will drive strategies, mentor engineers, and partner with engineering, program management, and operations to deliver affordable manufacturing solutions.

You will develop and apply cost models, run should-cost analyses, and oversee DFMA assessments to optimize lifecycle value while advancing early design

Qualifications

• Typically requires STEM degree and 12+ years of experience, or an advanced degree with 10+ years.
• 10+ years of engineering experience including design, manufacturing, value/cost engineering.
• 3+ years of experience leading technical teams.
• Experience with DTC, DFMA, producibility engineering, or cost modeling methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high‑performing team of DTC and Producibility Engineers across multiple product lines.
• Establish VE strategies, processes, tools, and best practices to drive early cost visibility and better manufacturability.
• Drive VE CORE events across Collins Aerospace SBUs.
• Shape requirements, design architecture, and choices to reduce cost and risk while aligning with capabilities.
• Develop cost modeling and should‑cost methodologies to support trade decisions and negotiations.
• Oversee producibility assessments, DFMA analyses, and manufacturing risk evaluations to optimize cost and build efficiency.
• Collaborate with program leadership to integrate cost and producibility into plans and baselines.
