Job summary

RTX (Collins Aerospace) is seeking a manufacturing process engineer to define and improve production processes, equipment layouts, and workflow. You will analyze data to optimize throughput, reduce waste, and ensure quality while adhering to safety standards and Collins codes of conduct.

The role emphasizes collaboration with engineering and operations teams, use of statistical methods, and providing support across daily manufacturing activities in a US-based facility.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
• Experience with data analysis tools and manufacturing software (e.g., Excel, Minitab, MES).
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Define and develop processes, including equipment, fixture design, routings, programming, tooling, and standard work support our production lines and meet all applicable drawing requirements.
• Evaluate manufacturing processes using time studies, workflow analysis, and data modeling.
• Develop and implement process improvements to help increase throughput, reduce waste, and enhance quality.
• Design and optimize workstation layouts, material flow, and equipment utilization.
• Define the physical layout of machinery and the most efficient and optimized sequence of operations and work flow.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve production issues and support daily operations.
• Monitor safety, ergonomics, and compliance with applicable manufacturing standards.
• Use statistical methods to analyze performance data and identify improvement opportunities.
• Follow all Collins rules and codes of conduct.
• Perform additional duties as required.
