Job summary

Powertown seeks a Director-level leader to own municipal and investor-owned utility partnerships from first conversation through deployment. The role includes shaping programs, managing the pipeline, and turning signed agreements into grid-integrated storage solutions.

You will build trusted relationships across utility functions, drive performance targets, and create scalable playbooks as the function expands to new markets and teams.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in utility partnerships or large-energy programs
• Familiar with municipal and cooperative utilities operations, procurement structures, and stakeholder dynamics
• Experience managing multi-stakeholder initiatives from agreement to execution in high-growth or evolving markets
• Commercial and regulatory fluency to structure and sustain deployments
• Builder mindset: create a function, not inherit one
• Strong communicator credible with utility executives and internal teams

Responsibilities

• Build and manage Powertown's portfolio of municipal and cooperative utility partnerships, from business development through program go-live and ongoing account management
• Develop trusted relationships across utility functions — program management, operations, regulatory, and customer programs
• Set and deliver against program performance targets: enrollment, installed capacity, dispatch readiness, and operational KPIs
• Partner with utility stakeholders to deepen program scope, unlock adjacent opportunities, and advance long-term strategic alignment
• Coordinate across internal teams and vendors to keep deployments on timeline and on spec
• Identify improvements to program design, operational processes, and performance through data analysis and commercial judgment
• Build the playbooks to scale this function across new markets
